These 1917 $1 Legal Tender Notes represent the final type of a popular, long-running design! Nicknamed the “Sawhorse” for the intricate cross-bar design on the back, this exquisite motif was first printed in the 1870s. Issued for over half a century, it ended with these Series 1917 notes featuring the final design type with a small red seal to the left and red serial numbers.
