Struck in 90% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1937 Mercury dime features one of America's best-loved coinage designs. While the obverse depicts Liberty wearing a winged cap, the coin soon became known as the "Mercury" dime due to the similarity of the cap seen on the mythological male god Mercury. Liberty was given a winged cap by the coin's designer, A. A. Weinman, to symbolize liberty of thought. Get this early 20th-century favorite today.
