An attack was planned by the Japanese for June 4, 1942 on Midway Island to take control of the Pacific territory. Thanks to code breakers, Japan’s control of the Pacific was stopped. The common obverse depicts the Jeep Star along with the seal of Liberia, where the coin is issued as legal tender.
