Coin Release Schedules

U.S. Innovation Dollars Release Schedule

On July 20, 2018, President Trump signed into law the American Innovators $1 Coin Act authorizing a new series of $1 coins recognizing American innovation and pioneering efforts of individuals or groups. The U.S Innovation Dollars series will run from 2018-2032, and include a total of 57 different Innovation dollar designs.

The first year of the series saw just one design issued. The 2018 Innovation dollar’s obverse bears a close-up image of the Statue of Liberty – a design that will appear on each coin in the series. Its reverse features President George Washington’s signature as it appeared on the first U.S. Patent, which was issued on July 31, 1790.

Following this initial 2018 release, four different Innovation dollar designs will be released each year 2019-2032. These will feature reverses honoring innovations or innovators from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands and Northern Mariana Islands.

The Innovation dollar coins will be issued in the order in which the state or territory ratified the Constitution or was admitted into the Union. Below, you’ll find a list of Innovation dollars and their scheduled release dates. Please note these dates are determined by the U.S. Mint and are subject to change without notice.
