Gold American Buffalo

Introduced in 2006, the $50 Gold American Buffalo is the first 24k (99.99%) gold coin issued by the U.S. Mint. Bearing the designs of the 1913 Type 1 nickel, the obverse shows a Native American profile. The reverse, an American buffalo on raised mound.
